Chlorine (granular dichlor, 56% available chlorine):
Ounces = Pool Volume (gallons) / 10,000 × (Target ppm - Current ppm) × 2.0
pH adjustment (sodium bisulfate to lower pH):
Ounces = Pool Volume (gallons) / 10,000 × pH difference × 24
Alkalinity (sodium bicarbonate to raise alkalinity):
Pounds = Pool Volume (gallons) / 10,000 × (Target ppm - Current ppm) × 0.18
Ideal pool chemistry ranges:
- Free Chlorine: 1–3 ppm
- pH: 7.2–7.6
- Total Alkalinity: 80–120 ppm
- Calcium Hardness: 200–400 ppm
- Cyanuric Acid (stabilizer): 30–50 ppm
