Snow Removal Estimate
Snow removal estimation calculates the volume of snow to clear and estimates time.
Volume = Length × Width × Snow Depth
Unit support:
- Imperial: dimensions in feet, depth in inches, volume in cubic feet
- Metric: dimensions in meters, depth in cm, volume in cubic meters
Estimated clearing time:
- Hand shoveling: ~20 minutes per 100 sq ft with 6 inches of snow
- Snow blower (single stage): ~5 minutes per 100 sq ft
- Snow blower (two stage): ~3 minutes per 100 sq ft
Snow weight per cubic foot:
- Fresh fluffy snow: 3–5 lbs/ft³
- Packed/settled snow: 15–20 lbs/ft³
- Wet/heavy snow: 20–30 lbs/ft³
- Ice: 57 lbs/ft³
Typical driveway sizes:
- Single car: 10 × 20 ft (200 sq ft)
- Double car: 20 × 20 ft (400 sq ft)
- Long driveway: 12 × 60 ft (720 sq ft)
Safety tip: Heavy snow shoveling is strenuous. Take breaks every 15 minutes and stay hydrated.
