Button Placement
Even button spacing ensures buttons are distributed uniformly along a garment opening.
Spacing = (Total Length - Top Margin - Bottom Margin) / (Number of Buttons - 1)
Rules of thumb:
- Start the top button 1/2 to 1 inch (1.3-2.5 cm) from the neckline
- End the bottom button 2-3 inches (5-7.5 cm) from the hem
- For women’s blouses, place a button at the fullest point of the bust
