Gold value depends on weight, purity (karat), and the current gold spot price.
Gold Value = Weight × Purity Factor × Spot Price per unit
Purity by karat:
- 24K = 99.9% pure (factor: 1.000)
- 22K = 91.7% pure (factor: 0.917)
- 18K = 75.0% pure (factor: 0.750)
- 14K = 58.3% pure (factor: 0.583)
Weight unit conversions:
- 1 troy ounce = 31.1035 grams
- 1 tola = 11.6638 grams (used in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh)
- 1 gram = 0.03215 troy ounces
