Cholesterol Ratio Calculator
Calculate your cholesterol ratios including Total/HDL, LDL/HDL, and triglyceride ratios for cardiovascular risk assessment.
Cholesterol ratios are important indicators of cardiovascular risk, often more useful than individual numbers alone.
Total/HDL Ratio = Total Cholesterol / HDL
LDL/HDL Ratio = LDL / HDL
Non-HDL Cholesterol = Total Cholesterol - HDL
Ideal ranges:
- Total/HDL Ratio: Below 5.0 (ideal: below 3.5)
- LDL/HDL Ratio: Below 3.0 (ideal: below 2.0)
- Triglyceride/HDL Ratio: Below 2.0
Desirable cholesterol levels (mg/dL):
- Total cholesterol: Under 200
- HDL (“good”): Above 60 (40+ for men, 50+ for women)
- LDL (“bad”): Under 100 (ideal) to under 130 (near optimal)
- Triglycerides: Under 150
