Creatinine Clearance Calculator (Cockcroft-Gault)
Calculate creatinine clearance using the Cockcroft-Gault equation.
Estimates kidney function for medication dosing.
Supports metric and imperial units.
Creatinine Clearance (CrCl) estimates how well your kidneys filter waste. The Cockcroft-Gault equation is widely used:
For males:
CrCl = ((140 − Age) × Weight (kg)) / (72 × Serum Creatinine (mg/dL))
For females:
CrCl = ((140 − Age) × Weight (kg)) / (72 × Serum Creatinine (mg/dL)) × 0.85
If creatinine is in µmol/L (used in many countries):
Creatinine (mg/dL) = Creatinine (µmol/L) / 88.42
If weight is in lbs:
Weight (kg) = Weight (lbs) × 0.4536
CrCl interpretation:
- > 90 mL/min: Normal kidney function
- 60–89 mL/min: Mildly reduced
- 30–59 mL/min: Moderately reduced
- 15–29 mL/min: Severely reduced
- < 15 mL/min: Kidney failure
