General hydration guidelines:
- Women: ~91 oz (2.7L) total water daily
- Men: ~125 oz (3.7L) total water daily
- About 20% comes from food, so drinking goal is ~80% of total
Common bottle sizes:
- Small: 12–16 oz (350–500 mL)
- Medium: 20–24 oz (600–710 mL)
- Large: 32 oz (1L)
- Extra Large: 40–64 oz (1.2–1.9L)
Adjust your goal for:
- Hot weather: +16–32 oz
- Exercise: +16–24 oz per hour of activity
- High altitude: +8–16 oz
- Pregnancy/nursing: +24–32 oz
