Divide both numbers by their greatest common divisor (GCD).
12:8 → 3:2
Solve a proportion (a:b = c:?):
? = (b × c) / a
Examples:
- If 3:4 = 6:?, then ? = (4 × 6) / 3 = 8
- Simplify 24:36 → GCD is 12 → 2:3
