Wheel durometer is where most setups go wrong, and the reason is backwards from what people expect. Soft wheels are slower on smooth concrete, but on rough asphalt they are genuinely faster, because they deform around cracks and chips instead of bouncing off them. Every bounce is energy leaving the ride. So 99A to 101A belongs in a skatepark and 78A to 87A belongs on a broken street, and anyone who buys hard wheels for a rough neighbourhood spends the session wondering why it feels uphill.

Speed wobble scores stability across bushings, wheelbase, truck angle, rider height and speed. Read the relationship carefully: centre of gravity and truck angle both sit on the bottom of it, so raising either one lowers the speed at which the board starts to shimmy. That is why crouching helps, and why a 50 degree standard truck wobbles long before a 42 degree downhill baseplate does.
