Exact calculation: For precise results, enter your birth date. The calculator counts real calendar days from that date to right now, leap years included, and runs the clock down to the second.
The 365.25 figure is the small fudge that turns the year math into an estimate rather than an exact count. A calendar year is 365 days, but Earth’s orbit takes about a quarter-day longer, which is why leap years exist, and averaging that quarter-day back in gives a tidy number. So the age-in-years conversions here are averages, while the birth-date calculation counts your real days, leap years included.
The 52.1786 weeks figure comes from the same place: 365.25 ÷ 7. If you have seen 52.1775 quoted elsewhere, that one is built on the Gregorian mean year of 365.2425 days rather than the Julian 365.25, and over a human lifetime the two differ by well under a day.
This sits firmly in the fun-fact category rather than the paperwork one. It’s the quick way to answer questions like how many days, hours, or heartbeats you’ve stacked up, not the figure you’d put on a legal form. For anything official, your exact age counted from your birth date is what matters.
