A pack a day at $10 is $3,653 a year, and paid into the market monthly at a 7% average annual return it comes to about $371,000 after 30 years. Cigarette prices have risen faster than general inflation almost everywhere for decades, so a price that holds flat for 30 years is a fiction. And nobody smokes exactly the same amount for 30 years. Treat the output as a floor.
